Pacific Golden-plover
 Pluvialis fulva 

Pacific Golden Plover is a rare migrant found on moist grassy fields and pastures near coast in late August and on into September. This bird is not reliably found, but there are sites where it occasionally appears.

Central Coast birding sites where you might look:

Santa Barbara County: 
Rancho Guadalupe Dunes County Park
Santa Maria Water Treatment Plant

Ventura County
May sometimes be seen at the sod farms on the Oxnard Plain, along Casper and Arnold Roads.  
Be sure to stay on the road as this is private property!
