Red-breasted Sapsucker
Sphyrapicus ruber

Breeds in coniferous mountain woodlands. Uncommon winter visitor to coastal lowlands where they are most easily found in pepper trees.

Waller Park [In winter look in interior oaks and poplars as well as tamarisk, pine and cottonwood along borders.]
